The Dangers of Unpaid Internships
I just cut my lip while licking an envelope containing PAs. Here’s to hoping I don’t die a la George Costanza’s fiancee. In order to make it more relevant, I tried to see if the Press had any books on first aid. We don’t, but here’s what came up when I searched: 1. 100% Pure Florida Fiction 2. A Sacred Trust: Nelson Poynter and the St. Petersburg Times 3....

Did I enter the UPF twilight zone?
No one else from the marketing department is in yet, despite it being nearly ten, and there is all of this maintenance/construction going on upstairs that sounds like the worked are lifting heavy blocks of cement and then dropping them on the ground in order to bash holes in the ceiling. Edit: Stephanie walked in as I was typing this up, so I am no longer a solitary intern, alone in the Batcave...

However (unless they changed it since I last tried), you typically can’t reply to replies (though the ask function can do that, sort of), and I tend to...

Legoland
A weekend ago, in a rare show of college-aged filial piety, I went home to visit my parents. Now, besides commiserating with my mom and step-dad, who had both caught some kind of cold around the same time I did, I managed to spend a bit of time with a good friend of mine, Nicole. Hanging out with her this weekend, I realized that I could probably dedicate an entire post (or series of posts) to...

Stranger in a Strange Land
Well, after a few false starts, an embarrassing email mishap, and a seemingly apocalyptic tumblr server failure, here it is: my blog. I’m Teal, and besides being named after a color (well, honestly I’m named after a duck, but that’s a different story…) I’m currently a senior studying English and history at the University of Florida. I’m loosely specializing in Cold War studies, making the leap...
